Description
In which I tried to imitate the style of 10th-11th century Anglo-Saxon miniatures. Not the fanciest ones, of course, because those gilded, heavily ornate frames are way above my capabilities.
So, it's just a fun experiment, inspired by the Víkingr mod for Mount & Blade: Warband.
This is based on a story and characters by my buddy Eadric, Árbædes Brandas ("The Swords of Árbæd"), which is set in a legendary pre-migration Saxony. The guy in the hauberk is Heremód, king of the Ingvaeones, who kidnapped the daughter of the famous smith Árbæd to blackmail him into giving him three powerful (and cursed) swords. Hilarity ensued.
This fictional story is supposed to be an Anglo-Saxon retelling of earlier legends, so that's the context in which this miniature would have been created.
The parchment texture isn't mine and I don't know who created it.
